Is It a Cold, or Is It the Flu?

Occasionally it may be difficult to tell the difference!

Generally speaking, COLD symptoms may include:

Gradual onset
Little or no fever
Mild or no cough
Runny nose
Sore throat
No diarrhea or vomiting
Mild chest discomfort
Sneezing

 

Sudden onset
Fever often over 101 degrees
Dry cough (can be severe)
Prominent headache
No diarrhea or vomiting
Muscle/joint pain (often severe)
Extreme exhaustion
Chest discomfort
Some have runny nose, sneezing, & sore throat
Epidemic (schools closing, etc.)
